David Hohn

David Hohn received his degree in illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Over the years his work has focused on the juvenile markets, ranging from picture books, children's theaters, video games, and apparel graphics. He has worked as a staff art director/ illustrator for a children's software company where his art direction of "Baby Smartronics" for client Fisher Price won a Communication Arts interactive design award.

He's currently working on the third of a four book contract with Waterbrook Press an imprint of Random House. During the process of these four books David has moved from watercolor and oil to a tradigital process that incorporates the techniques of oil painting but without all the harmful fumes and slow drying times.

David also teaches an illustration class at the Art Institute of Portland as well as co-teaching a children's illustration course out of his studio in the Alberta Arts district of Portland.
