Salem Writers' Workshops hosted by Shannon Riggs

 7-9 p.m. at the West Salem Public Library
Usually the fourth Thursday of the month, depending on room availability

These workshops focus on creativity and craft. We have provocative writing prompts as well as exercises for character development, dialogue and description (to name a few). If you would like to jump-start your creativity and work on various aspects of your writing craft, this is the group for you!

Would you like to host a small meeting for SCBWI members in your area?

 SCBWI Oregon is looking for volunteers to host smoozes in all areas of Oregon and southern Washington. Now is your chance to meet new friends in the field, host a speaker, critique, share, exchange ideas, commisserate, and take care of some of that withdrawal you feel between conferences!

We would like to have lots of these on our calendar, so please, pick a date in any month besides May or October, and host a smooze! We will provide any reasonable funding for a speaker, community facility and refreshments and will advertise here, on our listserv, in the newsletter, and if there is time, the SCBWI Bulletin.
